Sprocket

Blazed black hooded

DOB:  26th June 2011

About Sprocket

We adopted Sprocket from Silver Frost Rodentry to be friends with Snoot.  He was so named as he is always in gear - a zooming, energetic, pocket rocket of a fuzzlet!  And he has three lovely big dots down his back that look like cog wheel holes.

Sprocket (aka Sprocks, Sprocklet) has the most gorgeous wedge blaze... his nose glows with a brilliant white that matches his shining personality.  He is the one who waits by the cage door, the one who is always in your face, the one who monopolises your attention during play time.  He loves to be hand wrestled and zooms about in a black and white bouncing blur.
He's certainly going to be lots of trouble and fun!

Cute and little on the day we brought him home.

He has a wonderful cheeky smile.

Snack time.

A big yawn for such a little rat.

Bonding time with Uncle Fraz.

Cooking with Fleet.

He spends most of his time parked at the cage door, begging to come out.

Please please pleeeeease bring me treats.

Having fun with the digging box.

Can I eat this?

Tales of Sprocket

Take me home!

Sprocket is a funny rat.  He acts so confident and thinks he's a big tough buck, but he's really just a big furry wuss.

He's always excited to come out for run time on the play table, where he zooms about checking everything is how it should be and re-scent marking everything.  Then he'll park somewhere for a good long groom.  Once he's finished though, he's suddenly desperate to go home to the cage.  He stands up at the edge of the table.  He leans over trying to jump to the floor.  He follows me around the table, waiting for an opportunity to jump onto me for a ride home.  He paces back and forth on the table edge closest to the cage.  He's rather funny to watch, it's kind of like a special Sprocket dance.

I have no idea why he's so desperate to go home.  But I suspect it's something to do with being taken home before the other rats so he can check everything is how it should be and re-scent mark everything.  Or perhaps find any new treats in the cage before the others.  Or park his furry butt in the wheel so the others can't use it.
